Hi fellow U2 fans,

I went to the 4/5 show in Los Angeles last night and it was fantastic! I came in right about when Kings of Leon were finishing their set, but, when I was in line to get some EXPENSIVE merchandise, I ran in to Mike Dirnt (the bassist of Green Day). I'm a big Green Day fan and my band covers some of their songs. I asked him why Green Day did not have any dates in CA for their current arena tour. He told me "we're saving it for the big fuckin' finale" and he also said that after this tour, they are going to do a massive stadium tour.

So I get to my seat, section 108, row 5- even though it's really row 3, right near the mixer station. In the station I could see U2 associates like (forget his first name) O'Herlihy, Steve Lilywhite (who was really getting into the music), Willie Williams. During "Sunday Bloody Sunday", I saw that Bono went to the side of the stage to talk to Paul McGuinness.

The sound was mediocre, however. Not U2's performance though. They were alive as ever. However Edge did play some wrong notes during "All Because of You" and missed that chord right after "...let her talk about things you can't explain" during "Mysterious Ways".

I was very impressed with the production. However I think they could have beefed it up. It's sort of like Elevation version 2.0 if you know what I mean. However the lighting was fantastic, including the FLOOR LIGHTING and the VIDEO CURTAINS, especially during the random word video segement during "The Fly".

During the show, Bono brought up a little boy named Jack, and made a joke. "Well Jack, this is the beanstalk!" The funny thing about it is that as soon as he said "Jack" the crowd went wild. It was so funny! The lucky kid during "City of Blinding Lights" got to go underneath the stage and back to his spot, underneath as in the forbidden backline crew area, every hardcore U2 fan's dream place to be.

The only thing I was disappointed about was the absence of "Until the End of the World". Although played at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, it has yet to be played on the Vertigo Tour.

Can't wait to see what the European production will look like.
