Well we arrived at the stadium at 9am to make sure we got in the B-stage pen at the right as you look at the stage. Around 2pm the band began the soundcheck (Mofo about 10 times) and the security put the new Oasis album, over the PA (NOT HAPPY!)
Anyway, 4pm approached and we ran in, managed to scam in the camera which was a result and got right in the pen and onto the barrier 4 feet away from the B-stage where I knew they would be coming on and spending most of the night. After months of hype I expected the stadium to be half empty going by the press but by 6pm it was full (72,000). After Audioweb and The Longpigs did their thing Howie B came on to get the crowd going. There was a PA announcement about not pushing at the front (I nearly died the night before on the barrier in the main standing area) and then on came Mission Impossible. It was so cool to see Bono's daughters come out and kick loads of the inflatable Lemons out into the crowd to be bounced above the crowd.
Then Pop Muzik came on and the crowd went wild!
The crowd were better, I had THE best position for the whole show, I got loads of excellent photos and it was the best concert of my life, about 100 times better than the previous night. The band were totally going for it and put so much more energy into the show, and when Edge began playing Daydream Believer we all went off! It was the karaoke we all came to hear. All I Want Is You was beautiful as usual and it was nice to hear Unchained Melody, but the highlight was Gone which was out of this world. The whole Lemon thing was hilarious and we were right underneath it! We got waves and smiles from each band member as they walked down the steps to do the Discotheque bit. Bono fell off the stage during Miami and I still don't know whether he meant to!
Anwyay, thanks to the boys for the best night of my life!
