The Nottingham Boat Club was established in 1894, and became a regular live music venue in 1962. The venue has a capacity of 250 people. The Nottingham Boat Club originally became a live music venue to fund the Nottingham Boat Clubs water sports activities. When the Nottingham Boat Club is not being used as a live music venue it is used as training space and a social area for the rowing club - this is why you will find people on rowing machines on the main stage as well as a couple more exercise machines in the bar lounge.
