Louisiana Superdome is located in New Orleans, Louisiana
"The Superdome" is one of the most storied stadiums in America. The home of the National Football League's New Orleans Saints opened in 1975 and has gone on to host many notable events including the 1988 Republican National Convention and Wrestlemania.
The stadium has hosted seven NFL Super Bowl's including the 2002 event that featured U2's emotional half-time show in which the band paid tribute to the victims of the 9/11 attacks.
The stadium served as a shelter for those that were not able to evacuate New Orleans before Hurrican Katrina made landfall. An estimated 9000 evacuees and 550 National Guardsmen took shelter at the Superdome during the storm. In the days after the storm, the number of evacuees swelled to an estimated 20,000.
The following year, U2 teamed up with Green Day before the Saints game which served as a re-opening of the renovated Superdome.
