NYC native Kelis grew up singing in church choirs and took lessons in violin, piano, and saxophone. Kelis landed her first record deal when a friend introduced her to The Neptunes. Her debut single "Caught out There" reached No. 9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Her 2003 album "Tasty" garnered success thanks to the hit single "Milkshake" which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Besides U2, Kelis has also opened for Moby and Britney Spears.
