Fantastic night. Sending the Vertigo Tour off like it should, with an enormous party!! I was in front of Edge on the floor and thought that everything went fantastically. You could see the emotion from the band in just their body language alone. Smiles almost constantly on someones face. Adam with a good tan, Bono letting his voice loose, Edge running amok all night. Larry, well he was just being Larry! Even when things got a bit serious "Love & Peace", "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "Bullet" it never did get bogged down.
"Wild Horses" was a great surprise with the fan on piano. Bono didnt remember the key, and the kid could be seen screaming it out to him! It started out rough but came together nicely and was a 'unique' arrangement. "Sometimes" got to me. Goose bumps and tingles. Bille Joe coming up for "Saints" was a rumor all day long and was nice to see come off, even with some microphone troubles. Pearl Jam was a fantastic opener and Eddie and Mike on "Rockin in the Free World" was also an expected surprise.
It was a blowout. A great great tremendous blowout. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks U2!!!!!
