Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is located in Uniondale, New York
Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Long Island, just east of New York City. The venue building in 1972 and has been renovated and expanded several times over the past fifty years. A massive 2015-2017 renovation saw the arena updated and the exterior enhanced.
It was home to the NHL's New York Islanders and has been a popular venue for musicians with many offical audio and video recordings made at Nassau Coliseum being commercially released including performances by David Bowie, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, the Grateful Dead, Phish, Metallica, and Genesis. Frank Zappa's final performance was at Nassau Coliseum and Elvis Presely was scheduled to begin a tour a week after he passed away.
Professional wrestling has also found a home at Nassau Colisrum with WWF/WWE hosting countless major events at the venue. The venue was the east coast site of Wrestlemania 2 as it shared the event with the Rosemont Horizon near Chicago and the Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles.
Nausau Colisium is located at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale, New York.
