Vertigo/Stories For Boys
The band were electric last night. The same can't be said for the audience although the show still rocked. Was great to hear i will follow and electric co. We heard them soundchecking i will follow before we went into the ground. Highlights for me were an absolutely awe inspiring with or without you with a couple of joy division snippets in homage to manchesters own joy division!!! Streets was mega and Love & Peace is a dirty, dirty rock tune which I adore! It didnt let me down. All the band playing in the middle of the crowd was a great site to see. Vertigo is definately a great set closer, it would be great if they did this then and maybe opened with a different tune but im not complaining really. Another highlight was running to stand still. Ive never experienced this live but with harmonica and all it was a beautiful, beautiful song.
The only gripes I have are with New Years Day and Beautiful Day. I wish they would give them a rest but then again a lot of people have paid to see these tunes so its fair enough. I still enjoyed hearing them but being a big U2 fan i wouldve liked to have heard something different.
Sound at the gig was really good although bono's voice was inaudible at times.
Snow Patrol were shit. If you have these as a support act dont bother. The bravery were OK aside from some mega sound problems where the sound blew completely!! they sound a lot like the clash for the unitiated.
Overall, the gig was great. Cant wait for tonight now. Im not in GA tonight so i get to see the show from a different perspective.
