First of all, U2 made a wise choice having Muse as their opening band. They were sensational! Bono's vocals were on target but couldn't help notice some off target starts to a couple of their songs which seem to stem from monitoring issues. Edge was solid as ever on vocals and guitar and was quite the energizer bunny on stage. Larry's percussion sound was even more impressive compared to other U2 shows I have been to previously. Not that the other's were bad but this show's were so much better. Adam's bass performance seem to be flawless. After all these years these guys continue to play on as if they love nothing more than to give their fans a great show. In regards to their stage set, between the band's huge stage presence and their GREAT music, even their extravegant stage set takes a back seat to what the band alone brings to the show. I agree that there are other songs off their new CD that could have suited a better opening song. The Unforgettable Fire was an AWESOME surprise for all early 80's U2 fans, but I noticed it served only as a bathroom break for those who were not familiar with the it. (For those who plan on seeing them later on down the line who are not familiar with it, become familiar with this song and you'll understand why we go crazy when they play it, it is one of their signature anthems.) Their list of old and new was good however Pride, I Will Follow and New Year's Day were missed but I understand they need time to play their new songs as well. This was a new sparkle from a new music. I guess some could argue that Bono mingled too much of the world news with a music concert. I say if you listen closely he shares issues which are more on a humanitarian level than a political one which none of us should mind listening to. It takes nothing away from the performance itself and hey we just might learn something. All in all this was a great show from 4 guys who have been rocking for 30 years now. I do feel bad for those who could not hear the music, I agree if the sound is horrible, don't sell tickets for those sections. I hope improvements will be made in the future as to make this stadium more concert friendly.
