WHEN LOVE DOESN'T COME TO TOWN

Just rehashing with everydody else what I experienced at the Death Star Monday night.I am a long time U2 fan who first saw them at the US Festival in 1982, St. Patty's day in 85', multiple times in 92' and a few times since. Boy, have I and the hard rockin Irish Quartet have changed! Their
once youthful raw edge and classic rock'n'roll band
image has morphed into a CORPORATE "entity" by their
current 360 tour I witnessed Monday evening. This is our generations greatest LIVE rock'n'roll band and
boy, it's only sliding down a slippery slope. The
VENUE is mostly to blame for the worst performance I have ever seen from the Dublin icons. They are aging gracefully but like myself, time is taking its toll. Time the Conquerer is very evident. Bono appeared very fatigued as the show went on which I can definitely relate to and understand. The EDGE was as consistent as ever as was Larry and Adam.

I purchased tickets late Friday for an absurdly low price(thanks to the band) and can say since we didn't pay that much we can't get that pissed off but if I shelled out some cash for this farce of a
show(I can't believe some people are saying this was a once in a lifetime event. What are they smokin?) I would sincerely file my paperwork to get a refund like I heard some people said they were rightfully going to do. Let me explain why.

I've been going to concerts for over 3o years and
100's of different shows and artists. I have NEVER
been at an event where the sound was so TERRIBLE!
My son's second grade choir concert sounded so much better than what warbled in that building Monday. And, sadly, the band knew it, felt it, and
played through it as best as they could considering the acoustic challenges. That was by far the worst sound ever bestowed upon my ears and I understand many fans also could not take it and left. Since it was my youngest kids first official concert and wanted to go, I stuck it out. I have to admit, unfortunately, it was the toughest show to ever sit thru which is why I am so disappointed. I went there very excited to see and hear the greatest band of our time and left there
feeling I had beeen had. I'm sure if the show would have been in an arena the outcome would have been the opposite. I can only wait! As far as Jerryworld, I hope the U2 guinea pig forewarns any reputable act from ever considering stepping on a stage there. It really was that bad. Muffled sound, unintelligable lyrics, schreeching piped in
synthesizers?!? It was so bad during Surrender the
Moment, I went out in the concourse and was amazed
how painfully, the reverbations wouldn't stop following me. I've heard people in the front and sides to level 200 said it was great but for the rest of us restricted in the Death Star to certain areas, TORTURE, which I know the band is totally against.

As a proud Richardson redident, I couldn't quite
understand why Bono gave me a shout out. I'm sure
he's never been here before but I know for damn sure their concert would have been much better at
Fair Park(i.e. Cottton Bowl). I went there to hear great U2 music(like ALWAYS in the past) not Bono babble and promote his political/social/economic
agendas I get everyday at home on TV. He has never
done that at any shows I can remember like Monday.
Very disapointing. Stick to what got you there.
Play great music great. Bono's drifting in and out of lyrics was egomanical and he's never done it before. Is his mind going too? Very self indulgent. UNfortunately, very representative of what's going on in America today.

The setlist was very predictable and weak with everybody's favorite songs missing. Personally, I
love the new cd and it has some very good songs.
Classic U2 songs that I can't wait to hear in a smaller coherent concert venue.
