This was my second U2 concert. On their 1st leg I'd flown out to San Jose to see them and I can only say it's SO true U2 gets better playing live venues as they continue touring. This was the second to last concert in America. The sound is so much better on the floor it was so worth it. City of Blinding Lights opened the show with Bono stepping onto the elipse amidst screams and cheers in a shower of confetti. Edge was grinning as four notes into Elevation and everyone was already singing "WoooWhooo..." Bono just smiled, took another swig of water, mimed looking at his watch and let us sing. "I'm just flirting with ya!" he said as he began the song proper. He must have said "Wow" about 11 times during the show. Salt Lakers love music. I also love to sing which is what makes everyone pay scalper prices for tickets. That feeling of oneness with everyone was there in the arena. The only scary part was during Miss Sarajevo when Bono's voice faltered during Pavarotti's solo. We love you anyway, Bono! I absolutely LOVED hearing Bono play Norwegian Wood in fact that was my favorite part of the entire concert. 3 lucky people got pulled up on stage: #1 during Beautiful Day a blonde in a Santa hat and red and white fur trimmed Santa dress was called up. A child was invited to sing "No more!" during Sunday Bloody Sunday and #3 during Mysterious Ways/With or Without You-Bono's girl. I love Bono's appreciation for diversity there are too many white people here in Utah. Poor Kanye West was booed by a few people when he opened the show. U2 did their usual 3 encores including an acoustic Stuck in a Moment, Awesome! Great concert. I met lots of cool U2 fans like me, saw old friends and had a great time. Oh, yes, and during the show when Adam came strolling down the runway wearing that big grin of his and strumming his bass as if he had all the time in the world to play for us I got to touch his bass when he condescended to us fans! Thanks Adam!
