I'm writing this review two days after the show, having spent all day Wed. getting back to Texas and most of Thurs. working, so I hope y'all who were at the show check back into the site to see some of my pics, as this was an unbelievable night.
First of all, thanks to my Mom for the plane tix, the GA tix, and for coming with me! You rock!
Jeremy - Mack and Sasha love you.
Amanda - Mush Pot alot, Denver is going to ROCK in about a week!!!!!
I won't rehash any of the other reviews, but here are some memories:
The girls behind us in the GA line (#'s 116-120 or so), who were so pumped to be there in the cold at 8:00 am, and kept talking about how excited they were and how awsome it was going to be in the heart. I love people who love U2, even though sometimes only we get it.
The Providence Police horses tied right behind us in the GA line, trying to eat everyone's coat.
Cow man - cool at first, policing the line, getting cutters sent to the back, then getting in line at about #5 when his hand said #142. Not very cool.
You can tell that Dallas loves people paying attention to him, even though he tries not to notice.
The band seemed to have an unbelievably good time tonight. Bono was into it from the first note, and he really seemed to appreciate the passion/noise of the crowd.
Bono had some tech issues during elevation, and sang into two mic's (one in each hand) for a while, then had to go over to a member of the crew while he was singing, and get a new power pack stuck in his pocket. The woman was about 60, and looked like my aunt Barbara.
On Larry's screen, you could see his copy of the set list next to him, but you couldn't read it, except for one song that was crossed out and had "PLEASE" written in magic marker next to it, so we all new that we were going to hear it, but it was so great accoustic. Very moving.
If you've never seen Out of Control live(sorry for not using U2 fan code of "OOC"), it absolutely rocks.
"We feel very proud to be in America during such a time of togetherness and love..."
"Osama Bin Laden can kiss my royal Irish ass!"
When I saw Bono say "wow!" to Edge as they walked off stage, I just knew the second show's setlist was going to rock! I keep missing party girl by one show!! Slow dancing! Man!!
Thanks to all U2 fans for being so considerate and nice, and hey Mr. The Edge, shake up the set list for me in Denver on 11/7!!!!!!!
