I've been a big u2 fan for 2o year, I saw them play here in Melbourne in 1984 when i was 14 and then during the loves comes to town and Zooropa tours.
I went to see them last wednesday on their 360 tour and was very disapointed. Firstly the sound was the worst concert mix i've heard in ten years and i've seen Radiohead, Coldplay and Metallica recent years. it was so loud and badly mixed that Bono sounded like a Chipmunk Punk. I moved around the arena to try and get a better sound but it was pretty bad everywhere. I ended up putting me hands over my ears most of the time. The Edges guiter effects were like mud, with no clarity or warmth.
The next disapointing thing was the poor choice of set list. Too many heavy rock riffs and not enough of Bonos genius lyrics. I love hearing new music as long as its of the same quality of the older stuff.
Highlights were beautiful Day, jay z's rap and Streets have No Name. Low lights were everything else.
Get it together boys you're losing your touch and wasting my hard earned cash.
Ps. Get a good mixer!!!!
regards Chris
