Manchester 14th of june. Looked forward to this for ages, the support acts did not really do their job, Snow Patrol good though. just before 8.30 U2 on stage, no build up with lights to tease you, just straight on and in to it. The first few songs, the band seemed to struggle to find their feet, but city of blinding lights sorted that out. For me the show was spoilt by a either a crap sound system or the stadium acoustics, it was very difficult to hear Bono as the Edge often drowned the vocals.
The set choice was very good, and it was classic U2 with all the favourites, playing Vertigo twice is cool, but the second time had more balls than the first, and that is the track that should get the crowds attention, and take the concert forward. Overall good, but the sound was pretty bad. Will go again though, especially if they go back to Roundhay park.
