I'm not sure if anyone else has reference sound problems...I might have been in a lousy spot? About half of the songs were tremendously heavy on the high end. At times the guitar totally overwhelmed everything, and songs just didn't sound balanced. Similarly, I found Bono's amplified voice thin and sneery.
This didn't happen in all of the songs: Streets, Pride, One, Bullet the Blue Sky, Sunday Bloody Sunday all sounded perfect. I'm not sure what the sound problem was but it was very distracting in Vertigo, New Year's Day and especially the opener COBL.
The frustrating thing for me is that this is my fourth time seeing them - Bono has always had amazing full sounding vocals before.
I do agree that he was a little business-like, the boys had a week off after this show and I think they were looking forward to it just a touch too soon.
On the plus side, Edge played the best version on One I've ever heard, and they had a great transition from Love and Peace to Bullet. I'd never heard Electric Co. before, it sounded phenomenal. Bono had some nice guitars on Running to Stand Still.
Different, not as good for me as Elevation and Popmart tours.
