Hi y'all,
I guess I'm the first one to post about the concert, and I just have to say it rocked!!!
I saw Elevation in 2001, but I do believe that Vertigo was better. I always love the stripped down set. The pulsing lights going around the elipse and around the target were so awesome. It was great to see all the band members get really involved in Vertigo as opposed to Elevation where Larry and Adam took a backseat role to Bono and Edge. Adam was walking around the elipse and Larry was down there with Bono, so it was awesome.
The set list was great and Bono, the natural showman that he is, just rocked. He's such an emotional performer, you just can't help get on your feet and belt the lyrics out at the top of your lungs.
I do have to agree with one poster from the Staples Center show. The fans were kinda crappy. Hardly anyone was standing up cheering along. I was on my feet the entire time and I'm a young U2 fan. I think the older fans who have been with the guys forever should be belting out the lyrics louder than me, but NO ONE WAS! Let's go U2 fanatics, GET ON IT!!!
Great show over all. Maybe I'll see them on the 3rd leg....
