Last night was my first U2 concert.
Once I got over the initial rush of seeing the band in person, I was left under whelmed. They seemed, relaxed, and having some fun, but some a little played out.
It was great to hear the songs, all familiar to me, but except for "Bullet the Blue Sky," there seemed to be no real "jam" or extended take on the set. I was hoping for more artistry I guess. It felt like they were taking care of business.
Loved the light panels and how they enhanced the messages of the songs, but when it comes down to it - I want more soul.
Call me demanding, or critical, but for the price of admission, I wanted to me "moved."
And please, can we stop talking about the Pope already?
D.
