U2 is my religion and when they tour I attend church. My licence plate reads "U2 FAN". I have attended every tour since the Joshua Tree spread its gospel sounds... and this show in San Jose left me with a "nearly" empty feeling. First off the initial sound quality was poor. The guys at the board tweaked it right after a few songs. The playing of old early 80's songs was certainly a highlite (I was really hoping to hear Into the Heart or Shadows and Tall Trees. The band was on and seeing Bono go to town with the drum was a treat! I think what may have reduced my enjoyment of the show was actually reading the reviews on this site from the earlier Vertigo shows and already knowing what to expect? My own fault. I thought the crowd was into the show right up until the end when I was left very surprised to not hear the chorus of "40" ring out from the crowd as we all departed the venue. That left me extreamly disappointed. See you in Salt Lake City December 17th!
