After this leg of the tour was canceled and rescheduled due to Bono's back injury, the enthusiasm at this show was off the charts. (Denver has a special affection for U2 anyway. If everyone who says "I was at Red Rocks in 83" had actually been there, the crowd would have been 50,000 strong!)
Anyway, on U2's triumphant return to Denver the entire stadium was shaking. When the band took the stage and the new version of "Even Better Than The Real Thing" took flight, I thought the whole stadium might collapse from the energy and electricity. My wife sustained permanent hearing damage. That's the sign of a good U2 show! The Claw filled the entire stadium and somehow made everything feel intimate.
