I am a resident of New Orleans. I do not call myself a big U2 fan.......
Until the halftime show at New Orleans
I know a big hitter in the Saints organization, and he was gracious enough to let me watch the spectacle on the field. Things you did not see on television:
Security was beefed. I had never been to a sporting event where security was this tight.
The people you saw on the field: Some was staged, and some was not. There was genuine cheering on the field, but some was contrived with directors and producers giving audience cues all over the place.
U2 and Green Day sounded amazing together. The sound was excellent. Hearing the Edge play a Green Day song was very odd to me. However, when the horn section kicked in, I did not care. It was a very moving rendition.
I have never seen a U2 show before, but the amount of energy that Bono exudes is unbelievable. You could see Bono chatting with some people before he took the stage with Green Day. The ultimate highlight were the drummers. I had no idea that Larry Mullen can play drums the way he did, and the Green Day drummer is a spaz.
I hope all of you will enjoy this.
