This was my 3rd U2 concert, and it seriously rocked! I was lucky just to get the tickets; I didn't get them till the day before, when my brother's ex-girlfriend hooked me up with a pair at $133 face value--expensive, but worth every penny.
The show started out strong with Elevation, and continued with an awesome setlist including old stuff like I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, and Pride. My favorite performance of the night was Where the Streets Have No Name. All the stage lights turned on, and the 20,000 fans were constantly jumping up and down throughout the song; I myself didn't sit once throughout the entire show. Bono would psyche up the crowd as he crowd surfed a few times times and ran around the heart-shaped ramp at full speed (pretty impressive, since he fell back on opening night).
At one point Bono talked about one of U2's first US shows at the Ritz in front of 11 people, playing like their lives depended on it. He said the band felt the same way tonight, and we all knew because it was an amazing concert no U2 fan could leave behind.
