I've just come back from both nights at the M.E.N. Both nights were awesome!!!!
Despite arguements with M.E.N security guards after first night fiasco, after careful planning, for the second show we managed to get everyone into the heart who wanted to be there.
The first night the band really rocked - all were in good form. Bono dedicated 'Kite' to his father who he said only had a few days left to live - obviously a very emotional song.
For the second show the band didin't appear to be too happy. All night Bono appeared to be very angry. He kicked the microphone stand into the heart (very uncharacteristic of Bono), whilst during 'New York' he made a reference to 'Lose your parents, lose your life', giving us the impression that his father had died earlier that day. However, this has yet to be confirmed. During 'One' again Bono seemed uptight, shouting abuse at poor old Dallas (Edge's guitar technician), before storming off, skipping 'Walk On'.
All in all however, two great gigs. Roll on Birmingham. See you there.
