A crowd of us had seen the first Manchester show, on the 14th, a day that we simply could not wait for. So lucky to get tickets to see the only band worth seein, all of us were so excited. However, the mood changed with all the drunken scum/idiots fighting, surely other people saw this. 50,000 people and no one saw that guy get kicked senseless. So incensed we approached the stewards, who did nothing. U2 were brilliant, although it took a few songs to get the fans going. The show was just excellent, but me and the other lads & lasses felt the day was spoilt by events earlier. So the next day i was determined to get more tix for the Cardiff show. Many, many thanks to, well she knows her name! for the Cardiff tix. One of the best days/shows ever...and i've been going to gigs since 1977.
Brilliant venue, brilliant crowd all there to see U2. Shivers down the old spine for all of us, i think. Then drove back to Derby/Nottingham....wide awake for the next week!!! Then to die Olympiastadion, Berlin.
