Let me get this out of the way: WORST OPENING ACT EVER! Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, PJ Harvey, No Doubt, Nice. Kings of Leon?? uhhh...horrible. I was even more dissapointed to find that The Killers will open the euro leg, that would have been cool! If you have reserved seats, take your time at the bar, and get there about 20 minutes to 9...you wont miss a thing.
Now for the main event:
WOW! What a difference a day makes!
Completely different energy. My girlfriend enjoyed Denver1(her first U2) Eventhough she was happy with the show, I told her, THAT wasnt U2. Tonight she got it.
The sound was vastly improved. I am not sure if it was due to our lacation on the upper level, even with the stage. I was in the second row next to Edge on Weds, and while it was great to be so close, the show lacked the usual U2 magic.
Thursdays show was incredible! The stage(which couldnt be appreciated from so close) was great! The screens overhead werent visible from below so that was an added treat. I am a little dissapointed Zooropa and Pop were completely ignored, But Gloria was great. Bad was still a little bit souless, for being such a soul-ful song(see zoo tv).But all in all one of the better shows I have been to.
If you have 2 shows in your city, try to sit near and far, for the very different perspectives.
