This was my fourth U2 show. I made the trek of 230 miles from NW Washington to see them on Easter Sunday, and well worth it. I went to the Tacoma show the week prior, and was kicking myself for not buying tickets for Vancouver and Portland, but redeemed myself by finding great tickets available on the web at the last minute for the Rose Garden show (a great venue for concerts by the way). I was only 50 feet away from the stage on the lower level reserved seats. I think the shocking moment of the evening for me was when Bono leaped into the crowd during The Fly. There was a lot of commotion and security guards that surrounded him on his way out that back end of the arena, I couldn’t really get a good glimpse of what was going on, but it was definitely cool.
The band put on a flawless performance, and comedic as ever with their witty sense of humor, and Bono’s stage aerobatics. It was a real treat to hear Bono sing Amazing Grace after One, and then the Ramones’ song I Remember You in memory of the late Joey Ramone, very classy that U2 did that.
Thanks guys for the great memories this past week, and for all those waiting for them to come to your town, you won’t be disappointed.
