Having flown for 4 hours especially to see the band in Tokyo was well worth it, and the wait! I missed the band on their recent tour of Australia, as I live in Hong Kong. I didn't want to wait another 9 years so see these guys rock it out again!
I wish I could have heard "BAD" and "Zoo station" live, rather than just watching them on constand relay on zoo tv/elevation dvd's. For me the best is and always will be "streets", closely followed by "City of Blinding Lights", "Pride" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" which really got the Japanese crowd going off their head, as with all the popular songs that u2 have had over the years! For the less well known tracks being so far back in the stands the feeling of some of the songs was lost as not everyone knew them.
The crowd was great, appologies to people standing behind me. As i am 6' 3" I spent most of the night lifting up little Japanese people onto my shoulders so that they could see something for at least 2 minutes of the night!
Here are some pics to share with those that couldn't be there, in the words of zoo station, "i wanna be there". Enjoy!
