This was my first show this tour and I had already seen the "Live in Chicago" DVD. All I can say is that either the DVD was of 2 shows that weren't as energetic as this one or it failed to capture the energy level of a show on this tour. Highlights were "Elevation" with the crowds doing plenty of "Whooh's" at the beginning. "Until The End Of The World" had Bono chasing Edge around the ellipse. It was great to finally hear "Gloria" live for the first time and it did not disappoint.
I was glad that they did not play "All Because Of You" as I've thought all along it was way overhyped. They just need to drop "Stuck In A Moment That You Can't Get Out Of". I just thinks it's too way too throwaway bubblegum pop music.
As far as Kanye West goes, very few people other than those on the floor saw his performance. The seats were not even a third full and it was sold out. Yet, I don't think Omaha or Salt Lake City will give him as good of a welcome. When Bono mentioned Kanye West during U2's set there seemed to be nearly as much booing as applause. I thought that might have been a bit tacky on the audience's part...
