Just got home from Soldier Field. In the cheap seats, upper deck in back of claw. Sound plenty loud, slightly shrill. My 4th show as I am much closer to 50 than 40 (1987, 05, 09 and now 2011).
The boys brought it tonight, seem to genuinely enjoy Chicago. Songs that never disappoint: Mysterious Ways, End of the World, One. Best song live: Streets (never fails to get the hair on the back of your neck standing).
One correction--the treat at the end was One Tree Hill, which Bono referred to in reference to the 25th anniversary of the death of their friend Greg Caroll. He referred to the "professor downstairs" getting the set-up ready for OTH while they played Moment of Surrender. After a slow/start-mini rehearsal, they tore into OTH just fine. It was a treat (certainly for those of us over 40); I always thought it was the most underrated song on Joshua Tree.
