In my opinion, the U2360CHI show was GOOD, not great. It was our 19th U2 show since 1992 and ranks in the Top 10.
U2 360 2011 was certainly better and much more cohesive in message and set list than when the North American tour kicked off in Chicago in 2009.
I still think some of the NLOTH songs could have worked in the refined set list (e.g., Unknown Caller), but, the band chose to play more of a "greatest hits" tour this leg. The thrill of U2360CHI was the opportunity to hear Zooropa live for the first time -bluer by design.
While I pined to hear the re-worked version of Magnificent, I was absolutely blown away by the addition of One Tree Hill at the conclusion of the concert.
It will be interesting to follow the band for the next 12-18 months, seeing what comes of the various projects they've been working on since 2008. Moreover, what other unexpected surprises might U2 fans enjoy in 2013 -especially if Bono comes through on his promise (Italy) to play more rarities indoors?
