I had seen U2 for the first time in my life on May 14th in Memphis, and I loved it so much that me and four of my friends drove from Memphis to Chicago to check out U2 once again on their Popmart tour.
The Memphis concert was unbelievable, I thought nothing could top it, until the Chicago show. Our seats weren't as good (Section 100, waaay back), but that didn't matter. Even so far away I could feel the intensity coming from the boys down on the stage. It was truly magnificent.
Wonderful surprises during this show. After "Until the End of the World" Clayton pumped in with his famous bass line from "New Year's Day"! I went nuts! I had been keeping up with the set lists during the tour, so I knew how special this was. To top that they played a snippet of "All I Want is You" which the crowd sang along to nicely. And they included MLK after "One". "Sleep tonight, and may your dreams be realized."
What an awesome night! Thank you U2! Hope to see you in St. Louis and New Orleans. I'm not done seeing this tour yet.
