Another great performance by the boys. I got into the ellipse tonight and WOW!. I was within 10ft. of each one of the guys at various points and one of the coolest things ever was The Edge standing right in front (slightly above) me as he's wailing on Mysterious Ways.
The crowd seemed pretty energetic, though it's hard to tell what it's like from the ellipse except it was clear everyone was at the top of their lungs during Streets. Original of the Species was fantastic. It seems they've finally figured it out live. The piano version from early in the tour (as seen on the new Chicago DVD) is more subdued than this new full on version. I missed hearing Miracle Drug, but I like Original better anyways.
I was also at the Sunday night Miami show. This show seemed more energetic, though both were excellent. I'll never forget Bono's face as he sang Sometimes. It was clear how much the song means to him and how much he loves his father. I got choked up watching him, thinking admirably of how Bono continued to play even immediately after his father passed.
U2 is the best band in the world and they showed us why tonight in Tampa. They care about the music, about the fans, about the world. Thanks for the great show guys!!!
