Just moved here, so I went to the show solo -- but one never feels alone at a U2 concert, do they? :) When the universe gifted me with access to the ellipse, I was stunned. Moments later, wandering around looking for a soda, the tears started flowing with pure happiness and disbelief. It was a badly needed reminder for me that "good things DO happen", and I felt humbled and grateful ---- and ECSTATIC! Waiting for them to come out, and realizing that they would be mere feet away put a smile on my face that lasted all night. This was my 5th time seeing "my boys". I love every one of them so much. The band and their music has been an ever-present joy for almost all of my life! I was up front, 3 or 4 people from the front rail. I can't tell you how much I've always wanted to be there. On my "Things I Wanna Do Before I Die" you would always find "front row, U2 concert", and there I WAS! My right arm was raised for 90% of the concert in either a peace sign or an "i love you" sign. Reading through these reviews, I find it odd to see any comments reflecting negativity or disappointment. What I saw was 4 living legends giving it their all and having a great time doing it. God bless them. As for other audience members irritating you, I understand where you're coming from. I used to feel this way at other live shows -- but I've stopped caring whether or not anyone else is enjoying it because I can't control anyone else's behavior except my own. There were 2 people who tried to interfere with my enjoyment, but I refused to react the way they wanted me to.
The evening was unforgettable. At one point, I tried to commit the moment to a crystal-clear memory so I can remember it when I'm in the Old Folks Home, staring out the window at 80 years old. :)It was a Beautiful Day.
Their music has truly enhanced the quality of my life over the years.
