The 5 hour wait in the baking sun, hosed down by Rambo, finally came to an end when the 2000++ crowd , tired of seeing the five policeman sat in the shade decided enough was enough ! The barriers came down and the mad rush for gates 42-45 began. Managed to avoid this by going the opposite direction along with the security guards ! Got lucky when a small gate opened and in we went, up and down the hundred or so steps, across the pitch and into the elipse! As fast as Linford Christie ! It just shows how well organised the Manchester gigs were. As for the concert it was sensational yet again, with Bono at his best. Miss Sarejevo was worth the ticket money alone. The Italian crowd were up for it, the Mexican wave beforehand, and I have never seen so many lighters and mobile phones illuminate the night sky. The 3 mile walk back to St Peters square with the 4 Dublin girls was a start at bringing me back down to Earth ! A brilliant concert, a day I will never forget ! Thanks U2 for the opera in me as I haven't stopped singing . By the way Rome is definitely worth a visit and the food is great too !
