It's been about 24 hours since I got back from last night's show. I tried to write a review last night but was just to overwhelmed to write anything. This was my 7th U2 show overall and my 6th on the Elevation tour. What can I say? My heart is full and my wallet is empty. I always try to describe the experience of a U2 concert to people I know but you can't unless you are there. I did get a chance to bring 5 different people to the different shows with me and they all told me after that they now understood.
Well about last night's show. It was awesome!! Just being there on the floor from the beginning, feeling all of the energy of the crowd and the band together when you know that they are going to come out after Sgt. Pepper's finishes and you hear the weird Elevation mix and look around anticipating U2's arrival. Then singing along with the crowd the WooHOOOO chorus of Elevation before the band even starts. I will never forget this opening. Last nights crowd was definitely the loudest of the shows that I attended on this tour. Out Of Control was electrifying. They played it last week at one of the Staples Center shows and the crowd didn't really seem into it. Last night,Bono seemed to work extra hard to get the fans into it and it worked!!! I believe most of the crowd didn't know the words, but it didn't really matter. Wow! Another highlight for me was the acoustic versions they played of Please and Wild Honey. Please sounded amazing and it was cool to see Bono and the Edge grooving down the sides of the heart to meet at the tip to the chords of Wild Honey. That song is beautiful live. I like it much better than the album version. Streets was probably the song that tore the roof of most last night. The crowd was really feeling that one. I had to cover the girl I was with to keep from her falling over from the excited audience. Bad with Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses also rocked the house. I can keep going on, but all in all it was a great concert. I hope that they come back again soon but if not I have some great memories from this tour. Thank you guys if you read this
