An excellent finale to seven incredible nights in Boston this year. Bono said last night that some of the greatest concerts U2 has ever played were right here in Beantown. No surprise there . . .
Not as many people taken onstage last night compared to Sunday, when over a dozen marched around with flags; just Santa and Elvis (flashy 70s version) dancing around the ellipse, and a little boy shining the spotlight around the audience. Something weirdly Christmassy and magical in that, yes?
It was a Gloria, Crumbs, and Instant Karma kind of night. Bono wasn't as wild as he was on Sunday, but was focused and intense, and the crowd was if anything even louder than before. The woman next to me was in tears at the end.
This is the last show (and review) for me this tour. I've enjoyed reading every single one of the Vertigo tour reviews on this website and all I have to say that it is a real privilege to be part of the U2 fan community. U2 simply has the best, most thoughtful fans on earth. God bless you all.
