Opening night! 15 feet from the tip of the ellipse! My 4th U2 show (JT, AB, Popmart) This one was definitely the best ever.
Love and Peace or Else was a great opener. Watching Larry walk by and then, like magic, a drum appears behind him was electric! I don't know what it looked like from the seats, but jumping up and down and being a part of the "sea on the floor" was amazing.
My highlights were being "taken to another place" during Running to Stand Still and Bad. I cannot rank my favorites, simply because I love so many of there songs, but the live version of Bad from R & H, the movie, has been up there ever since the movie came out. So to be standing there on the floor when they played it Sat. night was like an out of body experience.
I'm writing this on Tues., and I know last nights gig was great, but I don't think anything can replace opening night in Chicago, 2005.
Hey! Got briefly filmed by the DVD crew while waiting in line. Hope to see my screaming face in Dec!!!!
