I am a diehard fan who was seeing my 8th show. Shows 1-7 were fabulous, so perhaps my expectations were too high, but like others, I found this one disappointing. I have left previous shows on a euphoric high, and that just wasn't there this time. They seemed to be going through the motions, and I didn't see the passion and enthusiasm I have seen in previous shows.

The setlist needs a lot of work. The songs don't flow together well and there are too many dead moments in the show. I don't know that I would quarrel with the selection of any particular song, though I do think they might consider retiring SBS and Bullet. Those two sound a little tired at this point, and I would have preferred hearing Walk On or even End of the World.

Streets just wasn't the same as previous tours. Usually there is such a buildup and a sense of anticipation to it that wasn't there this time.

I sat in a section full of drunk people, and that might have influenced my feelings about the show, I don't know. These people were so drunk they couldn't stand up and kept falling over on us, and the way they waved their beers around, I was convinced I was going to get a full beer spilled on me at some point. One girl had to leave several times to go vomit (this is my guess based on the look on her face and the length of time she was gone) and so we had to deal with her constantly stumbling over us while we were trying to enjoy the show.

I guess I should have expected this coming to a weekend show. A lot of people were there just to be there, and were not serious fans of the band as I am. But with so few cities on the first leg, I had to travel to this show from out of state and going to the weekend show allowed me to miss less work.

Anyway, I'm sorry to be so critical, but I was disappointed with this one. I guess everyone has an "off" night once in awhile and unfortunately this was one of them. I have tickets to 2 shows on the fall leg and am hoping for a better experience.
