Wow - U2 did not disappoint tonight. The band was definitely long on energy and the crowd reciprocated. Bono's voice wasn't quite there at the beginning; he said "I've got a frog in my throat", but it seemed to be nothing more than a fleeting moment, as he was in full voice the rest of the night (he hit 'sing' in Sometimes...) The band was on - lots of "extras", like Stories for Boys, Blackbird, Smashing Pumpkins and more. Bono interacted with the crowd a lot, and talked at length about his connection to Chicago.
During the second encore, right after Yahweh, Bono brought a female fan on stage to play Party Girl on guitar. She towered over him, and Bono remarked that she was a giant. The crowd ate it all up.
A great show from a great band in a great city.
