My first U2 concert was UNBELIEVEABLE. I’ve been waiting impatiently to see them since I couldn’t get tickets for Elevation. It was well worth the wait. The energy level that the concert had was amazing. I left feeling drained, but in a good way, knowing that I expended all that energy rocking with the best band in the world for 2 hrs. The band sounded great. Bono’s voice was strong, and he also gave very heartfelt and passionate speeches about helping to end poverty around the world. The Edge showed his guitar genius all night long, especially on songs like The Electric Co. and The Fly. Adam and Larry were great as well, especially on songs like An Cat Dubh and Sunday Bloody Sunday. While all of the songs were great, I felt the band really shone on One, Where the Streets Have No Name, Running to Stand Still, the ZooTV encore, and both Vertigos. Plus, being Bono’s birthday, we were treated to Party Girl, which included a fan on guitar and Bono spraying the first couple rows with champagne. I also feel that the light curtains really add some cool visuals to songs like Vertigo and City of Blinding Lights.
U2 live is an incredible experience. The 5/10 concert showed why they are still the biggest and best band in the world.
