Well, two nights in Chicago, after Wednesday night in South Bend, and the last of Nine elevation shows. I'm writing a review from both nights... Night one was awesome for a couple reasons... Night two for a couple other reasons. Night One... I had seen U2 seven times up to that point and this is the first time I've heard Out of Control... People Get Ready was a nice surprise... and I have to commend the gentleman who joined U2. Excellent work. Angel of Harlem seemed to be better than in South Bend. Also, I take great "Pride" (No pun or anything) in bringing people to see U2 who have not before and tonight I took my cousin, who was floored by the show. Oh, and Bad/Streets/Found/Pride is the best 20+ minutes of rock ever performed, live, studio whatever. Night Two... Really very similar to the other Elevation shows I've seen, but this one ranks up there because I brought with two people who ahdb't seen it before as well as a couple who have. I loved hearing Wake Up Dead Man, Desire, with the band at the tip again, Stay is awesome, All I Want Is You, with the crowd singing louder than the band... The crowd carried Bono tonight... after New Years Day he urged us to sing for him. He was struggling, and we definitely carried him. He improved as the night went on. Highlights from Both nights... Sunday Bloody Sunday w/ the American Flag, such a perfect moment. Bono saying, "Turn this song into a prayer." Kite Bullet (When U2 nails this song, there is nothing more chilling) Pride (Particularly the second night with the MLK poster on the drum) And of course the rest of the encore... New York is absolutely Amazing... in fact now has some of the most powerful lyrics... especially with the changes... What's Going On is so good. What a great cover. One/Peace On Earth/Walk On. Both Pre-"One" speeches were awesome... This is it... for now... U2 has given me the best seven nights of the year, and probably the best nine (Popmart St. Louis/Chicago) in my life up to this point. Joy Laughter Anticipation Hope Memories Dreams Love Tears Spirit Music Happiness It's been absolutely amazing... C.J.
