What can possibly top Monday night? Being in the heart Tuesday. When we left UC at 11:30 Monday we found the tent city already in use for the night we wanted. Slightly deflated we went back to our hotel and moved the wake up dead man call to 4 AM which is a mighty sacrifice when it's 2 AM on my internal clock. We still made it and the time spent with the "faithful" was worth it. Why can't I not talk in negative terms? If only I could surmise what degree I felt All I Want Is You, this was the second time I had seen it, the first being from nosebleeds in Anaheim on the first leg. Tonight Bono led the cauldron of voices from directly above me and I could hear the voices but not Bono. That silly grin you see me with currently is because of that song. Wake Up Dead Man was a first and hopefully not the last. As sure as they did pull out these and other gems during Chicago, it reminds me that any song in the U2 catalog is never out of date. The fact that they didn't perfom Gone/The Fly/or With or Without You is further testament of how fortunate we are to have seen them at all. With the names of those who perished as a result of 9/11, there were those who more that likely were at MSG in June and who had plans to see U2 this fall. I hope we all remember that as we "carry each other" and their voices with us this fall.
