Thank you Vienna for 2 amazing nights in your wonderful city. We flew in from Manchester, England on Thursday afternoon for the first of the U2 shows. This was our first concert of the Elevation Tour and it rocked big time! Best songs were Gone and Bad. The crowd reaction to Streets was amazing. Well, if you thought Thursday was a good gig, what can you possibly say about Friday night? It was out of this world. Not having tickets, we had to buy some from a tout outside but it was worth every schilling! The crowd was up for it big time even before the opening bars of Elevation. Bono seemed to be enjoying himself much more and did a full running lap of the heart at the start of Streets. The band seemed more in unison and they played a mixed up set of old and new songs. Out of Control was awesome and this latest version of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock much better than the early 80's version. Kite is simply beautiful live. Pride reappeared at the 2nd show and we rocked out big time at the top of the balcony to Walk On, possibly U2's best ever live song? I got so carried away I found myself climbing the railings at the top of the hall. An amazing weekend break in Vienna in the company of the best live band in the world . Full stop. Herzlichen Dank, Wien, fuer die wunderschoene Zeit bei Euch. Wir sehen uns bald wieder! See you all in Antwerp and on the UK Tour. It promises to be quite a summer .....
