Celtics) and 1967 (Warriors v. 76'ers) NBA Finals, the 1960 NCAA Mens Basketball Finals (Ohio State), and a legendary New Years Eve 1991 concert featuring Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam.

The venue is owned and operated by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, hence the name.
