Comments: After playing a midnight show in Dublin the night before, the band travel to Limerick to enter the Limerick Civic Week Pop '78 competition sponsored by Harp Lager and the Evening Press. Upon entering the contest, the band change their name from The Hype to U2. 

The two day event sees the band play several rounds in front of judges on the first day before advancing to the finals the following day.

While it's not known what songs are performed on this day, one song is performed entirely in Irish and is believed to be a very early version of "An Cat Dubh."
