Formed in Ireland in 1988, the Fatima Mansions saw success in 1992 with a reworked cover of the Bryan Adams hit "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You." Due to lead singer Coughlan's difficult persona, the band faced controversy over his views on religion and politics. They were nearly booed off stage in Milan during U2's Zoo TV Tour after Coughlan insulted the Pope.
