The Beurs ( French : Théâtre de la Bourse) is a former theater for theater and concerts , located in the center of Brussels . Built in 1885, the building opened as a shop and café ballroom, and in 1947, the ballroom converted into a theater and operated as such until 2004 when the building was finally converted into a cultural center, where it has a reputation as a venue for the avant garde. The Beurs is located in the center of Brussels at the August Ortsstraat.
