Wow! What a show!
This was the 3rd time I saw U2. The first was back in September of 1992 (I was 7) during the ZOO TV tour and the second time was in October of 1997 for the PopMart tour.
We got to the Air Canada Centre (ACC) in at around 7:00 and we sat in our very snug-together seats. We sat sort of at the side/behind the stage. They were allright seats I guess.
PJ Harvey came on promptly at 7:30. I had never heard of her before, but she played a very good 40 minute set. She played some excellent songs and was very hyper and energetic.
But now on to the main act ... At around 8:45 U2 came on and started the 2 hour show. They were in excellent form. Bono would run sprints around the heart-shaped ramp at times and he would also come around behind the heart to see our part of the crowd. The crowd would go crazy. It hurt my ears. Bono announced the birth of his baby boy :) The band introductions was cool to see. They came back for one encore, ending the night with Walk On. I left the ACC very happy. It was probably the best time I saw the band play. I hope they come back in the fall.
