This is my 2nd U2 gig, the first being in Boston in 26 May 05.
I was on the floor this time and really close to the band when they walked out onto the ellipse, so had a much better view of everything.
My personal highlights:
The Edge playing that nice bluesy guitar solo during Bullet The Blue Sky.
Wishing BB King happy birthday.
Daniel Lanois jamming with the band (again) during One.
Dedicating Miracle Drug to people like myself in the medical profession.
Inviting Menew up for to take over their stage....how many megabands would have the grace to do that?
Bono's quip "You better be good, I don't usually hang out with tall people!"
Minor quibbles:
Would have loved for the concert to end with Bad, a personal favourite, which they did the previous concert on Wednesday.
Would have loved to hear Discotheque, which they did the next concert on Saturday.
The concert was very very loud...it's almost 2 days after the gig now and my ears are still ringing!!!!
To Paul, Dave, Adam and Larry of U2, the greatest band in the world......I will cherish the memories of these 2 concerts for the rest of my days....thank you!!!
If anyone wants to trade photos of this concert, please email me at GohPL@smh.toronto.on.ca
