The concert had a somber mood to it. Gone were the karaoke song, "Daydream Believer" and the comical "Miami" from the Dallas show. One the best songs played was "Staring at the Sun"---all acoustic---just Bono and Edge.
What made it standout however were the pictures of Michael Hutchence on the Popmart screen.
The boys made the place go crazy as usual with "Where the Streets Have No Name" and even more so with Edge's quiet rendition of "Sunday Bloody Sunday". But, for all the upbeat and wild times, the show ended somberly with "Wake Up Dead Man" and finally, with the dimmed lights, INXS's classic "Never Tear Us Apart".
A relatively sad show, yes, but nonetheless a memorable one.
