After 4 years they were back. When they announced the tour I was a little disappointed that it was again in the Amsterdam Arena, because the accoustics weren't that good in 2005. And, although I still prefer the Kuip in Rotterdam for a stadium concert, the accoustics really improved since 2005. In fact it was pretty good. In fact it was superb!
As was U2. What a show. What a good choice of songs. I can't agree more with the other reviews to stop complaining about the 'standard setlist".
Highlights:
-No line on the horizon. Beautiful song
-Magnificent. This is really great to hear live.
-In a little while. Beautiful, beautiful. Bono's voice. It is simply beautiful.
-The Unforgettable fire. First time I've ever heard that song live. Great goosebumb moment.
-Unknown Caller. WOW!
-MLK, Bono's voice.What else can I say?
-Walk on. Nice to hear that song again and very powerfull live
-SBS, WOWY, Pride, Streets still rock and should stay forever.
-Mysterious Ways and Ultraviolet still sound fresh and remind me of the great Zoo TV (in Ahoy) and Zooropa tours
-Moments of Surrender with the little teaser of 40 gave me a great feeling.
-While a lot of people really seemed to like the Remix of Crazy Tonight, it is not my cup of tea. And felt sorry for Larry.
-The lights were turned of during One. What a great sight was that.
Furthermore: U2 Thanks for giving me such a great week. Because the second night I was also there:-)
